Our investment in you begins with the first time we make a connection. The Human Resources Department will reach out to qualified candidates for a phone screen. During that time, we’re looking to gain more knowledge regarding your work experience, your skills, and what you’re looking for in an employer and in your next position. This lays the foundation for the start of your growth and development with BSNB.
The next step for successful candidates is an interview with the hiring manager. We prefer in-person, but will conduct virtual interviews when needed. That interview will allow the hiring manager to supplement what was learned from the initial phone conversation, looking to determine your fit for the current position as well as growth opportunities across the bank. A second interview will be conducted if needed.
If that goes well, the Human Resources Department checks professional references, and then you’ll receive a call with the good news!

Insurance Coverage
- Medical Insurance: BSNB offers comprehensive medical coverage at an affordable cost to you, with many cost-savings tools at your fingertips. We also share in the cost-savings by having an opt out option by the Bank. You can earn a Wellness bonus if you’re enrolled in the Medical Insurance Plan and participate in selected wellness activities.
- Dental and Vision Insurance: With three dental tier options to choose from, as well as a comprehensive vision plan, BSNB provides support to you in maintaining your overall health.
- Flexible Spending Accounts: Choose to set aside funds on a pre-tax basis for reimbursement of qualified dependent care or out-of-pocket qualified healthcare expenses.
- Life Insurance: Bank-paid Life insurance is provided, at three times your annual salary.
- Voluntary Insurance Benefits- Choose from other voluntary benefits based on your unique needs, including Voluntary Life insurance, Critical Illness insurance, Hospital Indemnity insurance, Accident insurance, and Pet insurance.
- Disability Insurance- Bank-paid short-term and long-term disability coverage.
Retirement Plans
We know it can be difficult to save for retirement. We believe it’s our ethical obligation to help you achieve savings for retirement, and are proud to offer two separate retirement vehicles.
- 401(k) Plan: BSNB will match 50% of your contributions, to a maximum of 7% of salary deferred. In addition, the Bank provides a discretionary contribution annually based on Bank performance, to help your account grow.
- Pension Plan: BSNB provides a Defined Benefit Pension Plan to eligible employees, fully funded by BSNB with no employee contributions required.

Financial Wellness

Your first days on board will be orientation, where formal development begins. This will lay a foundation for success as you’re able to see BSNB in its entirety and the growth opportunities available. Your department will have an onboarding plan that insures a foundation for success.
Continuing education and career training are provided in various formats as you continue your professional growth with BSNB. Instructor-led trainings, mentoring, cross-training, and webinars on a variety of topics will help you gain new skills to continue your personal and professional growth.
We offer leadership programs in-house and through external resources. Our Emerging Leaders program invites 2-4 individuals to participate in a year-long curriculum to introduce you to every aspect of banking and provide leadership opportunities in the areas of project management and community support. That program can be complimented by external leadership training to round out leadership development opportunities.

Work-life balance has meaning at BSNB, and in support of that belief, we offer a generous paid time off package.*
A minimum of 10 days of vacation time annually. Vacation time allotment increases rapidly, and may start at more than 10 days per year based on position. Vacation time is based on a calendar year, and you may carry over up to one week of vacation time from one calendar year to the next.
- 11 paid Holidays annually.
- 8 Sick days to be used for your own illness or healthcare appointments or the illness or healthcare appointments of an immediate family member. Sick time can build with no limit on the number of days in the sick time bank.
- 3 Personal days awarded upon your anniversary date and each anniversary date thereafter.
*Part-time positions are provided with pro-rated vacation, holiday and sick time, based on scheduled hours.
